South Burgundy has a special microclimate ensuring that the summers start early and end late, perfect for the vineyards that are all around and perfect for strolling through the many ancient towns and visiting the chateaux and Romanesque churches that abound here. For the more energetic there is the possibility to explore the length of South Burgundy on the safe cylcing (walking) track the Voie Verte.
Activities in the area include: Wine tasting: We are in the Côte Chalonnaise wine region but within easy reach of others such as the Côte d'Or, Beaujolais and Mâcon. Numerous village viticulturists (as well as a couple of good, local wine co-operatives) offer wine tastings .
Sightseeing: We are well situated for visiting historic towns like Beaune, Dijon, Lyon, Autun, Tournus and Cluny. There are also lots of châteaux, Romanesque churches, cathedrals and beautiful uncrowded countryside to visit near here.
Spirituality: The religious centres of Taizé (christian) and La Boulaye (buddhist) are also within reach. The spiritual centre of Taizé is so close you can even walk there if you want.
Cycling and walking: La Voie Verte (a cycle path that runs the length of South Burgundy) passes within a stone's throw of the property and gives cycling and walking access to many interesting towns and villages.
Fishing: There are a number of fishing possibilities in the area, permits can be arranged
